Pixel 3 Specifications
The smaller Pixel 3 has a 5.5-inch display with a Full HD+ resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 coating and HDR support. The camera on the rear is a 12.2MP sensor with an aperture of f/1.8 and pixel size of 1.4 microns. There’s support for OIS and EIS. The front, on the other hand, has two cameras, both 8MP but one is a normal f/1.8 lens while the second is an f/2.2 wide angle lens. Under the hood, the Pixel 3 has Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 chipset coupled with 4GB of RAM along with 64 or 128GB of internal storage. There’s a front firing speaker that works in tandem with the earpiece to give a stereo effect. The phone charges over USB 3.1 Type-C and the back is completely made of glass which also allows for wireless charging. Being a Pixel device, the phone runs Android 9 Pie out of the box and will receive updates for 3 years. There’s a 2915mAh battery that runs the show. The Pixel 3 is also IP68 certified and will be available in three color options – Just Black, Clearly White and Not Pink.
Pixel 3 XL Specifications
The larger Pixel 3 XL, ever since it’s been making rounds in the rumor mills, has been receiving a lot of flak due to an oversized notch on the display. The display itself is a 6.3-inch P-OLED panel with a 2K resolution and 18.5:9 aspect ratio along with support for HDR. The notch houses 2 front facing cameras, much like the Pixel 3 with the same specifications. Two 8MP cameras with a normal as well as wide angle lens. The rear cameras as well remain the same as the smaller sibling, rated at 12.2 MP at an aperture of f/1.8 and support for OIS and EIS. The other difference is in terms of battery capacity which is now 3430mAh. The chipset as well remains the same Snapdragon 845 along with the same RAM and storage config. The Pixel 3 XL runs on Android 9 Pie out of the box, is IP68 certified and will retail in the same 3 color options – Just Black, Clearly White and Not Pink. Both the phones come with the new Titan Security chip which will help safeguard sensitive and private data within the phone itself.
Pixel 3/XL Price and Availability
Pixel 2 is priced at a whopping $799 unlocked in the US and starts shipping starting October 18th. In India, Pixel 3 64GB is priced at Rs 71,000 while the 128GB is priced at Rs 80,000. The Pixel 3 XL starts at Rs 83,000 for 64GB and Rs 92,000 for 128GB. Pre-order start from 11th October while the phones go on sale from 1st November.
