Google has yet again teamed up with NORAD to track Santa as he travels across the globe on Christmas eve. This year, the NORAD Tracks Santa website went live on December 1 and features a Countdown Calendar, a Kid’s Countdown Village with holiday games and activities that change daily, and video messages from students and troops from around the world. NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command) has been helping families track the whereabouts of Santa for years. In 2007, Google teamed up with NORAD and took the Santa tracker to a new level altogether. Users can track Santa in 3D on Google Earth and Google Maps.

This year also marks the introduction of dedicated free apps in the Apple iTunes Store and in the Android market. The parents and children can now track Santa using their smartphones and/or tablets as he begins his sojourn on Christmas eve to deliver presents to kids all around the world.
