While the report lacks a whole lot of finer details, it does say that Portal will be pitched as a way for friends and family to remain connected instead of the industry standard — voice assistant with a screen. It will, though, still support voice commands. However, it’s unclear right now what exactly it will be capable of doing. Portal will feature a wide-angle lens for video chats which will come integrated with the social network’s facial recognition technology....

Firefox 9 will be released officially anytime now, but for the impatient souls like me, Mozilla has made available the final version of Firefox 9 on their FTP servers. When first writing about the Google Fiber service, I was saying that Google needs to fix these issues: price, adoption and equipment. After seeing today’s announcement, I’m now confident they’ve managed to solve all 3 of them or, at least, to have a healthy start. Apple iTV, The Final Product Steve Jobs Had in Mind? For now, Apple hasn’t officially announced the release of a new service for online TV, but there are signs of this tech and rumors that it will see the light of day in the near future, most probably in the course of 2012. What we do know for sure is that Apple’s relationship with Samsung has deteriorated, and so, the company could be looking towards Sharp to help develop the next generation of Apple products: iPad 3, iPhone 5 and the rumored iTV....

I say surprising, because when it was first introduced, in the beginning of March, the service has been said to be exclusive to the Apple TV and iPhone, iPad devices. However, it hasn’t been mentioned at the time that the exclusivity would only last for 3 months. So, the moment has come for Android and Chromecast users to enjoy the functionality that HBO Now brings. First and foremost, head over to the play store and make sure you have the updated beta version of Nova Launcher. If you are not a beta user yet, enroll here.
