Unlike the JioFi 2, the all new JioFi 4G Hotspot sports a small OLED display up top which indicates almost all essential information including Power On/Off, Network Strength, WiFi tower etc. That aside, it’s markedly larger than its predecessor thanks to the large 2600mAh battery and sports a conspicuous ‘Designed in India’ logo on the back of the device. The last generation JioFi 2 on the other hand came with a smaller 2300mAh battery....

Max-Q fundamentally attempts to reduce the size of gaming laptops by optimizing the GPU and its consumption. Once implemented, it allows the premium GeForce GTX 1080 to be operated with significantly less power. It’s not clear if the set-top box is for Jio DTH or Jio IPTV, but the chances for DTH are bleak as there are no reports of Jio leasing transponders. Moreover, IPTV seems like a more logical fit considering Jio is an all-IP network. Jio has gone on to disrupt the telecom market even since it launched early this year. Reliance Jio is expected to be priced so low that it would undermine the offerings from the other telecos. Airtel has also taken up the cue and has revised a majority of its 3G/4G plans in order to gear itself for the competition. The most recent example being the 10GB of free data with Samsung Galaxy J Series phones. Also, Jio is nearing its commercial launch and it is most likley that the same is slated in the second half of this year....
