OnePlus 11 5G Design: Following a Pro template It might come with no “Pro” suffix attached, but the OnePlus 11 broadly follows the OnePlus 10 Pro’s design template. At a time when many brands are experimenting with straight sides and flat backs, OnePlus has opted to go with the classic curved sides and back look for the OnePlus 11. And it looks very smart indeed, with a tall Corning Gorilla Glass Victus curved display on the front and Gorilla Glass 5 back....

OnePlus has managed to encase a huge 6-inch AMOLED panel in roughly the same footprint of the OnePlus 5. To accommodate this, the corners are now curved which, as you’d guess, yields a more comfortable grip for handling the slightly taller phone. However, apart from that, there are no aesthetic refreshments which isn’t particularly a bad thing. The resolution has also not been upgraded either. It’s still a 1080p panel and carries the same pixel density, however, due to the 18:9 aspect ratio, it’s termed as Full HD+ instead of the usual Full HD....

The smartphone boasts of a 5.5-inch Full HD (1080p) display from JDI and is powered by the latest Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor from Qualcomm, clocked at 2.5GHz and Adreno 330 GPU. It comes with a 3GB LPDDR3 RAM, eMMC 5.0 interface with 16GB or 64GB of storage space, a 13MP shooter on the rear and 5MP snapper on the front. Other key features include Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and support for 4G LTE networks....

The Oppo F7 flaunts a glass rear and metallic edges. The front is largely dominated by a 6.2-inch Full HD+ screen with an aspect ratio of 19:9. Apart from the tiny bezel on top that houses a couple of sensors and borders along the sides, the F7’s display is nearly edge-to-edge. It’s powered by a MediaTek Helio P60 octa-core chipset, 4/6GB of RAM, 64/128GB internal storage, and a 3400mAh battery....

Realme Smart TV: Design and Display To start with, the Realme Smart TV features a thin bezel-less design, which comes at a thickness of 8.7mm. The panel cover on the TV also extends to the edges, which further adds to the experience to offer immersive viewing. Realme Smart TV comes in two screen sizes: 32-inch and 43-inch, with the 32-inch model offering a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels and the 43-inch variant coming in at 1920 x 1080 pixels....

Redmi 8A Dual: Design and Display The Redmi 8A Dual follows a similar design language as its predecessor with a plastic back that comes with Aura X Grip design for better grip in hand, along with a P2i splash-proof nano-coating. Towards the front, it features a 6.22-inch IPS display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and a 1520 × 720 pixels screen resolution. The display comes with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top and has a dewdrop notch on top to house the front-facing camera....

For those wondering, the ReTV X1 comes with three months of free DittoTV subscription and a year of ReTV subscription. Furthermore, ReTV plans to collaborate with Spuul to provide 6 months of free subscription to the buyers of the new TV box. Galaxy A51 is the king! The Samsung Galaxy A51 was the highest selling Android phone of Q1 2020 with 6 million units sold, giving it a market share of 2.3 percent on its own steam. To get an idea of how big that figure is, just consider the fact that as per IDC, Samsung shipped a total of 5.1 million units in India in the same period. So the Galaxy A51 sold more units on its own globally than all the Samsung smartphones sold in India in the same period....

Samsung has apparently applied for a patent for the next generation scrollable TV in the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The company essentially aims to take the scrollable display technology which they built for their future smartphones onto a TV. That’s a tough task indeed. LG Display apparently was the first to the race as they showcased an 18-inch rollable OLED display during the CES earlier this year. While a TV with an 18-inch panel may be puny by today’s standards, making a scrollable display that large is one challenging task....

There’s not much difference between the two, either. Both have a 6-inch tall 720p screen and are powered by a quad-core chipset. Oddly, though, the Galaxy J6, which theoretically should have an inferior processor, comes with an octa-core chip. Other similarities between the Galaxy J4+ and Galaxy J6+ include a 3300mAh battery, Android 8.1 Oreo with the company’s own skin on top, and a fingerprint sensor housed under the power key....

Glassy, so glassy We have not really had the opportunity to keep the phones next to each other (neither has been released yet), but in terms of sheer design, we do think this is a very close call. Both phones are mainly glass affairs. The S9 does tend to look more, well, familiar because well, it is a dead ringer for the S8 from many angles with its tall frame....

It’s not just the announcement, but the specs are uninspiring as well. The 7-inch display comes with 1024×600 resolution and 169 ppi, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB or 16 GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot that supports up to 64GB of storage and a 4,000mAh battery. As for the camera, it comes with a 3MP rear shooter and 1.2MP front shooter. Galaxy Tab 3 will come with almost an year old Android 4....

While a few previous leaks have somewhat revealed a few of the Galaxy Z Flip details, we now have a clear first look at the device, thanks to WinFuture. Looking at the product renders, it seems that the device will come in a purple colorway (official name yet to be known) with a foldable design and a dual-camera setup on the rear. From the looks of it, the Z Flip appears to be very thin and comes in at 7....

Apart from employing a series of new stringent tests and precautions, the new Note7 features a relatively smaller 3200mAh battery. The company further mentioned that it will be selling 400,000 phones, all of which utilize components extracted from defective unused Note7 handsets. Samsung also says that it’s put the Galaxy Note Fan Edition’s battery through an 8-point safety check to prevent it from overheating and well, exploding, unlike the previous version....

Previously, buying a OnePlus was kind of a no-brainer, where people knew that they are getting a premium specced device at a surprisingly low price. This made OnePlus a blindfolded “take my money please” choice, but the scenario has changed with the OnePlus 5. In the past, OnePlus devices had very little in the name of competition. But thanks to a spike in its own price (it starts at Rs 32,999 and goes up to Rs 37,999 – a far cry from the Rs 21,999 of the OnePlus One), and a dip in the prices of the competition, the OnePlus 5 finds itself in new territory, confronting some rather formidable opposition, even if some of it seems a little long in the tooth....

The good news is that the company is seemingly committed to its phone business. In a fresh interview with Arabian Business, Totoki once again reiterated that Sony isn’t exiting the smartphone business. “Smartphones are completely connected to other devices, also connected to people’s lives — deeply. And the opportunity for diversification is huge. We’re heading to the IoT (Internet of Things) era and have to produce a number of new categories of products in this world, otherwise we could lose out on a very important business domain....
