And it seems that this new feature made a good impression on the folks over at Instagram, as they have released a new app which pretty much does the same thing as Live Photos. Available as a free download for iOS and Android users, here’s what Instagram said on their official blog: Boomerang becomes Instagram’s fourth mobile app, besides its main mobile client, photo-collage app Layout and Hyperlapse. Since the app has a very basic feature, it comes with just one button....

It might be best known for its iPhones and computers and other cool gadgets, but one of the biggest names in tech, Apple is at the forefront of digitization of education as well. And we got a glimpse of it recently at TechConX, an education technology conference by Canadian International School (CIS) in Bangalore. Today’s students are increasingly digital natives. The way they interact with technology is vastly different from the way their predecessors did....

Well, in the event (pun intended), a new iPad was indeed released. The iPad (seventh generation), to be exact. The Jio’s feature phone will come equipped with a 2.4-inch display, and Reliance Retail has apparently partnered with both Qualcomm and Spreadtrum for its chipsets. Furthermore, Reliance is expected to launch two handsets both of which will be paired with the 512MB RAM and on the storage front, it will offer 4GB of internal memory along with a slot for microSD card. The imaging arrangements on the feature phone will be bare basics and include a 2-Megapixel sensor on both the sides....

While many artists and companies seem to have understood this principle, the vast majority of corporations and even governments entirely have proved to be run by muggles. The curiosity itself strikes me right from the heavens and makes me wonder why some, after failing with SOPA, ACTA and the rest of those threatening acts, try another censorship scheme. Judging by Google’s own sayings, this year in December, humanity may once more have to battle against internet censorship and all of its devious consequences....

The prolific leaker in the gadget space, @evleaks posted a tweet showing the render of LG Lifeband Touch. Last year, at CES 2013, LG had announced a similar activity tracking device which never made it to the market shelves. The Lifeband Touch might actually be an improved version of the same. Right now, we don’t have much information about what this particular wearable device can do or when exactly it will be announced, but CES 2014 being just about a week away, we can safely bet about LG divulging more details at the Las Vegas trade show....

The alleged Nubia bezel-less phone has been leaked via a bunch of pictures. The device is bezel-less and it apparently also comes with a sliding mechanism, something that we have seen in phones back in mid-2000’s. That said it is still not crystal clear on how this sliding mechanism works but the images show how the screen can be slid down to reveal the front facing camera along with the flash....

Priced at Rs 9,999, LeEco will initially make the Le 1s obtainable in New Delhi and Mumbai which will be followed by 70% of the stores across the country by the end of this year’s September. Interestingly, this isn’t the Eco variant announced recently that bundles a free entertainment package of LeEco services. Additionally, the company claims it has arranged 555 service centers in India offering 24×7 toll-free customer support....

LG Velvet: Design and Display In terms of design, the Velvet features what LG likes to call a Symmetrical Ellipse design and has a teardrop notch on the top for the front camera. The back of the device has a triple-camera setup, with three small circular lenses in decreasing order of their size. Towards the front, it has a 6.8-inch Cinema FullVision display with a 20.5:9 aspect ratio. As in so many things in technology and indeed in life, there is alas, no clear cut answer to this. On the one hand, yes, there is no doubting that software updates to devices or apps have their positive side. They show that the company is concerned about its product and is addressing issues affecting it. “Not like some big brands which launch a device and then forget about updating it for months,” a OnePlus user pointed out to me when I asked him for his take on the situation....

The Helio X25 is an iterative upgrade to the X20 with a few changes in the core management and an ability to clock at higher frequency. The design aspects of the core is nearly identical with the X20 as even the X25 heralds with a tri-cluster architecture which is based on the 10 cores. The higher frequency we were talking about earlier refers to the Cortex A72 cores which can be throttled all the way up to 2....

According to the Times of India, Microsoft is waiving the license fee of Windows Phone for these two OEMs, whose Windows Phone devices are likely to hit the market in the next few months. Both Lava and Karbonn are known for their budget Android smartphones and feature phones in India. Waiver of license fee from Microsoft is kind of surprising, as the company reportedly charges $20 to $30 for each Lumia device sold by Nokia, which went Windows Phone exclusive in 2011, and acquired by Microsoft last year (pending regulatory approval)....

Microsoft Corporate VP of Windows 10 and head of Microsoft’s “PC-Tablet-Phone” division, Joe Belfiore, said on Twitter that the company would stop focusing on new features and hardware instead will continue to support the Windows 10 Mobile platform with bug fixes and security updates. A new modified version of the Google Camera APK now allows almost every flagship smartphone to leverage the HDR+ technology. Posted on the forum 4PDA by a Ukrainian developer dubbed “B-S-G”, the modified version of Google Camera v4.4.012.156195200 can be installed on any phone powered by the Hexagon 680 Image Signal Processor. The ISP is found on premium Qualcomm SoCs including the Snapdragon 820, 821, and 835. Therefore, the app should work on devices such as the OnePlus 5, LG G6, OnePlus 3T, and more....

The Motorola One Vision features a 6.3-inch Full HD+ LCD display with an aspect ratio of 21:9. At its core, the device is powered by a 2.2 GHz Octa-Core Samsung Exynos 9609 processor, paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage (expandable memory up to 512GB with microSD). Other specifications for the device include a fingerprint sensor, 3.5mm audio jack, and dual microphones. The device runs on Android One based on Android 9....
