Mi TV 4X: Design and Display

In terms of design, the Mi TV 4X comes in at 13.9mm thickness with a two-color anodized metal frame and a flat back panel that gives it a flush-look when mounted on a wall. It features a 4K HDR 10 display that offers deeper and punchier colors along with improved picture quality. It also features WCG (Wide-Color Gamut) and Reality Flow (with MEMC enabled by a dedicated chip). As the name suggests, Reality Flow offers a blur-free rendering of high-speed action.

Mi TV 4X: Hardware

At its core, the TV comes with a 64-bit quad-core A55 processor, paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. It is the first TV to come with Vivid Picture Engine (VPE), which is Xiaomi’s proprietary picture engine that offers the perfect blend of contrast, brightness, and saturation to offer a true-to-life experience. The TV also features the Reality Flow Chip, which analyses frames (less than 60fps) and inserts frames in between to make it ideal for the 60fps display on the TV. For connectivity, the TV comes with Bluetooth 5.0 LE, 2 USB 2.0 ports, 3 HDMI ports, audio jack, AV input, ethernet port, etc. In terms of audio, it has a 20W speakers with a four-driver design that comes with dedicated woofers and dedicated tweeters to offer an immersive audio experience. The TV also supports Dolby and DTS-HD that promises to deliver true-to-life sound experience.

Mi TV 4X: Software

On the software front, the Mi TV 4X comes with PatchWall 2.0 running on top of Android TV (9.0), which claims to bring Data Saver for the first time on an Android TV. Data Saver allows up to 3x more stream, ability to view data usage by individual app, and wirelessly cast screen without requiring an active internet connection. The software comes with support for Google Assistant to offer easy access to the different functionalities. Xiaomi is also adding new content partners like Shemaroo, pic ON, ABP Live, etc to the list. In addition, it is also bringing Netflix on board to offer a wide variety of content. Not to mention, Prime Video, which will come pre-installed on the TV.

Mi TV 4X (50-inch and 43-inch)

In addition to the 65-inch model, Xiaomi is also offering two more screen sizes: 43-inch and 50-inch for the Mi TV 4X. Apart from the size difference, the TVs come with 4K HDR 10-bit display, 20W speakers, PatchWall 2.0, Dolby Audio, and dts-HD. Additionally, they also come with support for Google Assistant and the same content partners as the Mi TV 4X 65-inch.

Mi TV 4A (40-inch)

Mi TV 4X and 4A: Pricing and Availability

The Mi TV 4X is priced at INR 54,999 for the 65-inch model, INR 29,999 for the 50-inch model, and INR 24,999 for the 43-inch model. On the other hand, the Mi TV 4A (40-inch) is priced at INR 17,999. The TVs will go on sale starting September 29 on Flipkart and mi.com, followed by offline stores later.
